Transport to and from Los Angeles Airport - LAX Airport

Public Transportation

Metro Green Line Aviation Station provides free shuttle service. To pick up the metro passengers should wait under the “LAX Shuttle & Airline Connections sign”, on the Lower/Arrival Level islands in front of each terminal, and board the "G" Shuttle.


Travelers can also pick up the "C" shuttle to get to the Metro Bus Center, where they can board city buses serving Los Angeles and vicinities. To get more information, please, phone: 323.GO.METRO or 323.466.3876.


There are other public bus services serving Los Angeles airport as: Culver City Bus Lines, Torrance Transit and Santa Monica Big Blue Bus. To pick it up, please, go at the Metro Bus Center, Lot C.



Several buses offer service from Los Angeles airport to different destinations of Los Angeles and some surrounding regions. To pick up the buses, passengers should to on the Lower/Arrival Level islands in front of each terminal. There’s a sign “FlyAway, Buses & Long Distance Vans”.


These companies are:

- Antelope Valley Airport Express - Runs to Newhall, Palmdale and Lancaster in the Antelope Valley, with Lancaster (the furthest location). It is approximately 75 miles (121 kilometers) north of Los Angeles airport.

- Central Coast Shuttle - Runs to the Central Coast area including: Ventura, Santa Barbara, Buellton, and Santa Maria. To get more information, please call 1-800-470-8818.

- Mickey's Space Ship Shuttle- Universal Studios, Knotts Berry Farm, all Disneyland Anaheim resort hotels, O.C. Convention Center, John Wayne Airport, Buena Park, Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, San Clemente. To get more information please call 714-MICKEY-9 or (714) 642-5399.

- Santa Barbara Airbus - Runs to Santa Barbara, Goleta and Carpinteria. Travel journey is about one and a half or two hours.

- Shuttle One - Travels to Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm and hotels in the Anaheim, Buena Park, and Garden Grove area. For more information, please, call: (800) 400-7488 or (310) 670-6666.

- Ventura County Airporter - Travels to Ventura and Oxnard, on the sea coast about one hour to one hour and a half northwest of LAX.


Shuttle bus

Terminals are connected by a shuttle bus and Terminals 4, 5, 6 7 and 8 are connected airside through an underground tunnel between Terminals 4, 5 and 6 and above-ground walkways between Terminals 6, 7 and 8.


There is an airside shuttle bus that operates among Terminals 4, 6 and the American Eagle Remote terminal.


It is available the transport passengers to and from LAX Parking Lot C (C Route). Shuttle service is also provided to/from the Metro Rail Green Line - Aviation Station (G Route).To use the shuttle service, travelers should board the LAX Shuttle under the LAX Shuttle & Airline Connections Blue Sign, on the Lower/Arrivals Level.


Hotel & Parking Lot Shuttles

Most hotels provide shuttle service for free to go and come back from the airport to the hotels. Stops are located on the Lower/Arrival Level islands in front of each terminal. They are signalised as “Hotel & Parking Lot Shuttles”.



Taxi rank is located on the curbside on the Lower/Arrival Level islands in front of each terminal. They are marked with the yellow sign.

Before pick up a taxi, passengers can ask for the ticket that shows the typical fares to major destinations.

At LAX airport only operate authorized taxis, called Yellow Taxis. Please, make sure that you are using its services and not illegal ones.
